Cost: $5.00 for 1 and over

What's New?

One of my New Year's resolutions is to do more to help the environment.  You will see some changes in the daycare with this.  One of the things I am doing is greatly reducing the amount of paper products we use in the daycare.  I will be using cloth napkins and getting rid of paper towels.  This will mean doing a few more loads of laundry each week, but it will be worth it! You may be asking why it is worth it?  Did you know we cut down more than 35 billion trees each year to make paper products?  Also, more than a billion gallons of water is used each week to make paper products and that water is full of toxic chemicals that go into our lakes and oceans.  If everyone could eliminate 10% of the paper products they use, it would greatly reduce the amount of trees cut down and pollution being put into our water system.
I am hosting a "Green Cleaning Party" on Friday, January 16th from 5:30 - 7:00.  I think this will be a good opportunity for all of the parents to spend some time together and make some chemical-free cleaning products to use in your home.You can go to http://www.womenandenvironment.org to learn more about the products we will be making.  I will be serving a organic dinner at the party!  Free daycare will be provided!
New contracts will be sent out the first week of January.  I am not increasing my rates this year because of the economy but I am adding a few more vacation/sick days for myself.
It is a wet and snowy winter this year.  Please make sure you are sending proper outdoor clothing. 
We are doing the Pizza Hut field trip again this year.  The children really enjoyed it last year.  Please let me know if you have any interesting field trip ideas to share with me.  I am always looking for new places to take the children.
